Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Scope and authorisation
By requesting a service, you authorise Kennect to perform the agreed diagnostic, repair, installation, setup or support work and any reasonably necessary testing. We will seek further approval before carrying out materially additional chargeable work that falls outside the agreed scope.
2. Estimates and diagnostics
Initial estimates may change if inspection reveals additional faults, parts requirements or work that could not reasonably be identified beforehand. Where practical, we will explain material changes and seek approval before proceeding.
3. Your data and backups
Before service, you should maintain a current backup of important data where reasonably possible. Repair and diagnostic work can involve failing storage devices, malware, corrupted systems or other conditions where data may already be at risk. If data preservation or recovery is especially important, tell us before work begins so it can be considered in the service plan.
Nothing in this clause excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any limitation of responsibility for data loss is subject to applicable consumer law and the particular circumstances.
4. Passwords and device access
You may provide passwords or access credentials where reasonably necessary for diagnosis or repair. We use access for the requested service and related testing. You should change sensitive credentials after service where appropriate, particularly if the device stores access to financial, business or highly confidential systems.
5. Parts and replacements
Replacement parts may be new, refurbished or equivalent where disclosed and agreed. Manufacturer warranties and Kennect warranties are additional to applicable consumer guarantees and do not replace them.
6. Timeframes
We aim to complete work within any agreed timeframe. Where no timeframe is agreed, services covered by the ACL must be supplied within a reasonable time. Parts availability, third-party warranty processes, supplier delays and complex faults may affect completion estimates, and we will communicate significant delays where practical.
7. Remote support
For remote support, you authorise the temporary remote-access session needed to provide the agreed service. You remain responsible for being available where required, saving open work and ensuring you have authority to grant access to the device or systems involved.
8. Uncollected equipment
If repaired or assessed equipment is not collected, we will make reasonable attempts to contact you using the details provided. Any action relating to uncollected goods will be taken only in accordance with applicable South Australian law and will not be determined solely by these terms.
9. Payment
Payment is due as stated on the quote, invoice, checkout or service agreement. We may require payment for approved parts, special-order items or completed work before equipment is released, subject to applicable law.
10. Problems with a service
If you believe a service has not been provided with due care and skill, is not fit for an agreed purpose, or otherwise does not meet a consumer guarantee, contact us promptly so we can assess the issue and provide an appropriate remedy where required.
11. Contact
Service questions can be raised through our Contact page, Customer Portal, or by calling 0416 893 471.
